Could you join neighbourhood policing panels?

The objectives of a panel are to determine the unique needs of the community it serves and to give local people more influence in decision making, so as to improve the quality-of-life issues that most affect them.

Neighbourhood Policing Teams, district and county councillors, Neighbourhood Watch and other agencies work in partnership to act upon the issues identified by Neighbourhood Panels as being a priority for that specific community.

Neighbourhood Panels are non-party-political.

They can address crime and anti-social behaviour, community safety and are most effective when members of the local community feed into the panels their everyday concerns and issues.

Each panel sets its own priorities and meeting schedules, and recruits local members according to its concerns and issues. Meetings will be held once every three months and normally last approximately one hour.
