Children at Spilsby Primary School became singing stars for the day when they recorded a Christmas CD.

The whole school performed ‘It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas’ and each class and the choir a separate festive song.

Staff also revealed their talents with a version of ‘Rocking around the Christmas Tree.’

Pupils and their families were able to purchase the CD raising funds for the school. Proceeds from the sales was £175, with the profit going towards new play equipment.

A competition to design a cover for the CD was won by 11-year-old Charlotte Bridge. Year six pupil Charlotte’s festive artwork featured angels and Christmas trees.

Performing arts leader Rachel Jeffery, who organised the recording, said: “It was a very enjoyable day and a great experience for the children.”

Business manager Pam Fearn added: “We played the CD at our Christmas party and during lunchtimes. Lots of parents bought it as a stocking filler.

The CD was put together with a company called School Recording Stars.
