It was a red letter day as the Skegness British Heart Foundation Furniture and Electrical store celebrated its first anniversary.

The Lumley Road store has been helping raise cash towards the fight against heart disease since opening last year.

Skegness Mayor and Mayoress George and Julie Saxon joined staff and shoppers to mark the occasion.

Members of the Magna Vitae health improvement team also attended, offering blood pressure checks and nutritious dishes.

Service awards were presented to volunteers who have been working at the store for the past year.

Manager Ricky Swan said: “Our first year has gone great, there has been very good support from the community and we have over 20 volunteers.

“Every penny raised by our store goes towards the fight against heart disease, whether it be research, prevention or care.”
