Caterex 2016 is set to be a ‘hidden gem’ in promoting Skegness across the country.

The east coast’s premier trade show takes place at Richmond Holiday Centre on February 10 and 11 and has already attracted exhibitors from as far as Chesterfield, Hull, Hertfordshire and Northampton.

Last year I didn’t start until March. Caterex has lengthened my season this year to 10 months.

June Howard, business development manager at organisers SECWHA, said: “I really believe this event is a little ‘hidden gem’.

“I appreciate it is trade only, however it is a one-top for everyone in the hospitality industry and attracts visitors from all over Lincolnshire and beyond.

“Many exhibitors are staying for two or three nights, thus bringing business to the town at a time of year when many businesses struggle.

“It is a great testament to everyone that has previously been involved in the organising that this is the 33rd event and it has endured throughout difficult trading times, recession and bad weather.”

Office manager Elizabeth Sargent has booked out one of her holiday homes to an exhibitor. She said: “Last year I didn’t start until March. Caterex has lengthened my season this year to 10 months.”
