A mobile chemotherapy unit could soon be coming to Skegness Hospital – thanks to the fundraising efforts of Lions’ members from across the district.

Skegness Lions recently presented a cheque for £1,000 to the Hope For Tomorrow charity, which supports those with cancer and their families with mobile chemotherapy.

Other groups in the area – including Boston, Sleaford, Grantham and Lincoln – have donated a total of £4,000 to the charity.

This year is the 40th anniversary of Skegness Lions’ Club which, among other things, hold two annual fundraising concerts.

The next one will be at St Matthew’s Church on Saturday, July 2.

Member Linda Adams said: “We are very excited to have raised this money so patients can receive their chemotherapy locally.

“Out motto is ‘To Serve’ but we are also a social group for all ages and would welcome new members.”
