Care home opens to public

Stewton House in Louth is throwing open its doors to show just what life is like in a care home.

The Home is taking part in National Care Home Open Day on Friday, June 21, and is keen to welcome families and friends, old and new.

A full day of events has been planned for residents, with visitors encouraged to go along and experience it for themselves.

These include bingo, a performance, cooking, painting, gardening, a quiz, and a barbecue tea.

The home’s Dawn Whitt said: “It’s a chance to meet the staff and chat to them, and to get a feel of what life is like in a care home.

“We want to make it as comfortable as possible for our residents, some of whom come to us by choice and others who need to.”

Refreshments will be available during the day and information on planning care for older people will be available from staff.
