TWO lifesaving charities have received a whopping £7,000 cash windfall thanks to the efforts of a Skegness Caravan Park.

Taggs in Wainfleet Road handed over two cheques for £3,500 to the local RNLI and the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance at a ceremony last week.

The cash was raised through a series of raffles, bingo sessions and donations over the summer months.

And Taggs were delighted with the generosity of their staff and customers after matching last year’s total - despite the current economic climate and the coolest summer in almost 20 years.

Gordon West at Tagg said: “It’s a sizeable amount.

“We were a bit concerned that we wouldn’t raise so much this year because of the economy.

“But we went into it thinking, ‘whatever we raise, is whatever we raise’ and fortunately we were able to match last year’s amount.”

Lincs & Notts Air Ambluance chief executive, Peter Aldrick, has thanked Taggs for their efforts.

“The Air Ambulance is extremely grateful for the ongoing support from the caravan park and we are delighted to receive this donation,” he said.
