A car wash organised by Skegness, Wrangle and Chapel Coastguards has raised more than a thousand pounds for good causes.

The team held the charity fun day and car wash last month at Walsh’s Holiday Park in Winthorpe.

In all, a figure of £1,250 was collected through the fundraiser.

The total was divided between Skegness Coastguard Association and Keep the Beat, a heart charity based in Leicestershire.

Skegness Coastguard station officer Kim Cubitt’s two-year-old granddaughter Ameila Rose died while being treated for a heart defect at Glenfield Hospital in Leicester.

Further fundraisers are now being planned.

These include bucket collections at Morrison’s supermarket store in Skegness.
