An urgent last minute appeal has been made for volunteers to help clear coastal footpaths in time for the school summer holidays.
Coastal Access For All’s clearance session planned for tomorrow morning (Saturday) suffered a late notice cancellation from one of its main supporting groups due to an unexpected commitment elsewhere.
To make up numbers, founding member Paul Marshall has urged community spirited volunteers to join his team anytime from 10am as they clear pathways northwards from Seaview Walk.
“It’s the start of the summer season and at the moment we’ve had a lot of sand come up,” he said.
“Part of the walk is completely blocked so people wanting to use it are going to find it really difficult.
“So we want to tidy it up and make sure the beach is really safe and there’s no harmful litter.”
Volunteers can donate as much or as little time as they want, work at their own pace and finish whenever they need to.
They are asked to meet at the Seaview Pullover Car Park and bring their own spades or shovels.
