Torch lights up day at store

STAFF at Sainsbury’s in Spilsby were treated to a visit by an official Paralympic Torch which will stop off at over 1,000 branches during its tour of the UK.
The torch has visited six stores in five days and Spilsby staff got the pleasure last week.
“Five of our staff went to watch a basketball event and one of our members also went to the closing ceremony,” said Charlie Blades PR ambassador for the store.
In fact, 5,000 Sainsbury’s staff went to the Paralympic games all wearing the same t-shirt as the company was one of the main sponsors for the event.
“We had a great time and the torch, visiting really rounded off a great year and our time at the events,” added Charlie.
“Sainsbury’s as a company were proud to sponsor the Paralympic Games as it was a great success and the torch visiting, really helped to engage colleagues and we thank the public for their continued support,” said Mark Tomkinson, store manager.
