Thirtieth anniversary year for Caterex

A leading catering exhibition in Skegness is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
Caterex Trade Exhibition, organised by Skegness, East Coast, Wolds Hospitality Association (SECWHA), will take place on February 6 and 7, when many businesses from across the UK will descend on RichmondHoliday Park in Skegness.
As the premier catering show on the East Coast and one of the leading in the UK, Caterex UK attracts business professionals from a wide range of backgrounds related to the catering industry.
The exhibition provides them with an opportunity to meet suppliers and share ideas with one another.
The exhibition will be opened by the Chairman of SEWCHA, George Facey and the Mayor of Skegness, Councillor Mark Anderson; and Vice-Chairman of East Lindsey District Council, Councillor Pauline Watson at noon on February 6.
Chairman of SECWHA, George Facey, said: “Caterex signals that Skegness is open for businesses, attracting visitors from across the UK to what is a major event for the catering industry.
“This year’s agenda is action packed and I’m delighted the exhibition is once again being attended by so many businesses, both as exhibitors and visitors who clearly recognise the benefit,” George added.
East Lindsey District Council’s Commercial Team will be attending the event to offer food safety advice and guidance to businesses, helping to ensure they have the right information to maintain good food hygiene standards.
Mayor of Skegness, Councillor Mark Anderson, said: “Caterex is an important event for Skegness, with people staying in the town for the period of the event and the benefits this brings to the hoteliers and other tourism businesses.
“I hope the exhibition continues to take place in Skegness for many years to come,” he added.
Portfolio Holder for Economic Regeneration at East Lindsey District Council, Councillor Craig Leyland, said: “Caterex is an exhibition that is important for the profile of Skegness and the wider District and I’m delighted it still remains strong and well supported.
“Attracting people to the District during the quiet season for exhibitions like Caterex is important if we are to develop an all year round visitor economy that benefits both local people and businesses.”
