SO Festival gears up for its climax

THE biggest ever SO Festival spectacular will reach a dramatic climax later on Sunday when a fantastic fireworks display will bring the curtain down on this year’s nine-day festivities.

The SO Festival expanded significantly this year, going from a three-day weekend event based only in Skegness to a nine-day district-wide cultural juggernaut.

Towns as far afield as Woodhall Spa, Mablethorpe, Spilsby and Alford have joined in with this year’s party.

But the past few days have seen the festival’s focus return to its spiritual home of Skegness, and the final events of the festival will be held in the town.

The fireworks display is expected to take place at 10pm on the central beach following the conclusion of the Garsington opera ‘La Perichole’ from 7.45pm to 10pm at the same venue.

Eighties icon Adam Ant will also perform in the Embassy THeatre this evening from 8pm.
