A debt advice service in Burgh le Marsh is celebrating after its charity owners were awarded a royal stamp of approval.
Burgh Community Debt Advice Centre is one of 120 UK facilities operated by Community Money Advice, which was recently awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Volunteering Award.
The award was presented in recognition to the charity’s commitment to training and employing its 700 qualified volunteers and establishing a network of community centres.
The Burgh centre is sponsored by the village’s Baptist Church , which is delighted by the royal accolade.
Reverend Colin Bowden said: “We continue to train our volunteer advisors to increase the breadth of service and support we can offer the communit.
“And in October 2012 we qualified to handle cases of insolvency which included debt relief orders, individual voluntary arrangements, administration orders and bankruptcy.
“We are fortunate to have seen the lives of families and individuals improved through this vital service and encourage anyone burdened by debt or financial worries to get in touch to see if we can help.”
