THE 75th birthday celebrations for Butlins have got off to a brilliant start, with thousands of holiday makers streaming on to the resort for Easter.

Visitors also got the chance to see the fabulous new retro uniform of the Redcoats, which they will wear for this birthday year only.

The look is inspired by the original 1936 uniform and is part of a £34 million investment in the company.

Skegness Resort Director Chris Baron said: “We are really proud that Butlins is still as popular as it was in its hey day. It is a real testament to Billy Butlin.

“Butlins is really important to this area as we employ around 800 people even in January. We are extremely proud of the history and have a host of activities planned for Easter and the rest of the year.”

All guests will also get the chance to see the special 75th birthday show which will be running each week throughout the year.
