Alexandra Road, Skegness had some pot hole repairs made.

A number of businesses in Alexandra Road have been left disappointed with not being told about last minute road repairs which were carried out last week.

The corner of the road was blocked off from around 9am on Thursday while workmen repaired a large pothole

But The Crafting Lounge said they found it difficult to access their business directly next to the work, which cut off access.

“We were waiting behind traffic lights for 15 minutes but then we just pulled onto our shop front,” said a manager at the Crafting Lounge.

The German Tyre Warehouse near to the Crafting Lounge said they lost two-and-a-half hours trade due their entrance being blocked off.

“I rang the police as traffic was not being allowed through and they advised that the traffic lights were manned,” said Simon Farmer, Director.

The last minute work was finished around 3pm.

A county council spokesperson said: “We had temporary traffic lights in place while we were repairing a pothole in the road.”
