Pop-up art gallery set for Hildreds
Art enthusiasts can really indulge in their passion thanks to a shopping centre’s plan to set up a pop-up gallery in Skegness.
The pop-up gallery is set to take place from Friday, January 24, in an attempt to showcase some of the best Lincolnshire artists in a public setting.
It will be called the H-art Gallery, and just one of the well-known artists set to showcase their work is May Jones from Addlethorpe.
May’s work explores mixed media and collage using recycled materials. A recent series of her images, depicting the life-span of sunflowers and plant life, were on show at the Embassy Theatre’s gallery during December.
The Hildreds’ staff, May Jones and local photographer John Byford have teamed up to get the project started and are urging all budding artists who use any medium to get involved.
John Byford said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for all artists to showcase their work in an usual but perfect location.
“We will be in a formerly vacant unit and it will be great space for us to use being in a prime location in the centre of Skegness.”
Anyone interested in showing their original work should contact May Jones for further details on 079717 13056 or email mayjonesart@aol.com
