A NEW fitness club in Alford has hailed its first open day as a “huge success”.

Polenastics Lincolnshire held a special session recently to mark its opening.

The new club is an offshoot of Polenastics Ltd, which opened its first pole dancing for fitness school in Buckinghamshire in 2003.

And the popularity of the new Alford-based satellite club looks assured after plenty of interest at its open day.

Polenastics instructor Emma Addison said: “It was a huge success, with polers, old and new coming from near and far to celebrate our passion and share our skills.

“It was a fantastic day, and plenty of people saw the real benefits of pole fitness classes after a quick turn on the pole and a few minutes with the three-times Irish Pole Dance Champion, Arlene Caffrey, who also taught a workshop for us on the day.

“We were really pleased with the turn out and it’s great to see pole fitness becoming a more widely accepted form of exercise.

“Lots of different people came to see what it was about and tried pole fitness for the first time.

“I myself lost two stone when I started taking pole fitness classes without making any changes to my diet,” she added.

Pole dancing for fitness has become more popular around the world in recent years due to its body toning and sculpturing benefits.

Utilising many muscle groups, pole dancing for fitness is great for toning, developing firmer arms, more defined shoulders and back and stronger and more defined abs too.

The new club teaches classes at Alford Cricket Club on Mondays from 7pm-8pm, and 8pm to 9pm, and Thursdays from 6pm to 7pm, 7pm to 8pm and 8pm to 9pm.

All are welcome, however booking is essential due to small class sizes.

Group classes are available from £6.50 an hour (First class is £5). Other classes include private 1-2-1 lessons, small group classes, parties and host jams and master classes.

Emma Addison is a qualified Pole Fitness Instructor and qualified Level 2 Exercise to Music Instructor. She is also First Aid qualified and fully insured.
