Olympic Torch: Action-packed programme of events to welcome Olympic Torch Relay to Skegness

THE SO Festival is set to put on a spectacular programme of events to mark the arrival of the Oympic Torch Relay on Wednesday (June 27).

The torch will arrive in Skegness at around noon and is expected to spend around an hour in the town before heading south towards Wainfleet and then onto Boston.

To mark the torch’s lay-over in Skegness a whole host of street theatre entertainers has been lined-up.

A spectacular ‘Follow the Light’ parade will also follow the torch during its passage between North Parade and Lumley Road.

Organisers promise the parade will be a “fantastic, high-energy parade performance featuring amazing costumes!”

Up to 100 local people, including children from local schools, will be involved in the carnival procession.

A Torch Relay Flame Spectacular will also take place at Skegness Clock Tower from noon until 1pm.
