A SUPERMARKET’s reported interest in the former Kwik Save site in Skegness has ‘gone cold’.
East Lindsey District Council informed members of Skegness and District Chamber of Commerce that it had not had ‘any new discussion with perspective takeovers’ in over a year.
However ELDC chief executive Nigel Howells told the chamber that he ‘understood’ the supermarket was liaising with Lincolnshire County Council’s highways team to resolve potential problems envisaged with the site.
Those rumours have since been dispelled by LCC which claims to have had no discussion with any interested party over highways matters or anything else for a similar period of time as ELDC.
Rumours have previously circulated that Asda had expressed an interest in the site but the company refused to comment on its intentions.
