Local couple Neil and Isobel Lancaster are the first to tie the knot at the new Registration Office in Skegness.

With the sun shining down newlyweds Neil and Isobel too the plunge at the new facility on Heath Road at the Skegness Business Park.

The fabulous weather meant it was a very special day for the couple. The sun shone allowing them to take photographs on the area of lawn adjacent to the Registration Office (pictured).

The new registration office boasts a larger ceremony room that seats 25 guests, up on the former site on Roman Bank which only had seating for up to 10 guests and no parking.

Having booked their wedding before the move from the old offices, the couple were impressed with the new facilities and expect many more couples will choose this venue in which to hold their ceremony.

Donna Sharp, County Services Manager, said: “We are delighted that the services we are able to provide will be improved. We hope that many more people will celebrate their ceremony here and take advantage of the great facilities available in Skegness.”

Cllr Stuart Tweedale, executive support councillor for registration at Lincolnshire County Council, said: “We recognise the importance of providing upgraded facilities, so I’m pleased that the new building on Heath Road is starting to receive positive feedback.

“We believe it will offer a good solution for both residents and visitors to the area.”

Already, about 20 couples are booked in to be married in the new office.
