A new supermarket in Burgh le Marsh, which created 12 new jobs for the village, has also supported a Lincolnshire based sign-making firm.

The Lincolnshire Co-operative employed award-winning sign making and livery specialists Allen Signs to install all the signage at its new £1.3 million community store.

Sales and marketing executive at Allen Signs Glen Merryweather said: “We are happy to be working with a local business that provides so much to local communities.

“Hopefully we can continue to develop that relationship and we look forward to providing our services in the future.”

Great Floods of 1953

Website educates about 1953floods

A website has been launched to educate young people about the Great Flood of 1953, in which 42 people on the east coast lost their lives.

Young people visiting www.y53.co.uk will be able to explore what happened on that fateful January night, discover what caused the flood and read survivors’ comments.

Information on the current flood risk is also included.
