A Skegness guest house and Alford bakery are amongst the nominees for the 2015 Select Lincolnshire Food, Drink and Hospitality Awards.
Caxton House in Skegness is shortlisted in the B&B of the Year category and Pocklingtons Bakery for Wholesaler of the Year.
The winners will be announced at a special award ceremony on Tuesday February 3, at The White Heather, Caenby Corner.
In total there are 14 award categories, including best pub, restaurant, producer and holiday accommodation of the Year. The most popular category is The People’s Choice award, which generated over 1,600 votes this year from shoppers and food lovers across the country. This figure is up 266 per cent from last year, with one lucky voter winning a free local Lincolnshire food hamper donated by Lincolnshire Co-op.
Business development manager for Select Lincolnshire for Food Gillian Richardson, , said: “This year we had an overwhelming number of award entries, all from very deserving food and drink producers across Lincolnshire. This, in itself, is proof of the diverse and high quality food and farming industry in the county.
“Every year we look to recognise and reward the people behind Lincolnshire’s billion pound food and farming sector. The judging panel found it really difficult to shortlist the entries for each award category, because every application had its own strengths.”
