Kiosk traders ‘lost money’ at event

LOCATING this year’s Skegness Illuminations Switch On at Tower Esplanade lost foreshore traders a ‘lot of money’, a town resident has claimed.

Malcolm Gabittas asked Skegness Town Council who permitted the stage to be situated so close to foreshore kiosks during the public session of its latest meeting on Wednesday.

Coun Danny Brookes, who runs one of the kiosks, said his profits were down two-thirds and explained that East Lindsey District Council had permitted event organisers SECHWA to host the stage there.

“One tenant is getting his solicitor to look at whether it was a breach of his tenancy agreement to put it there,” he added.
