Home Bargains is rumoured to be creating one huge store out of its current unit and the former Co-op premises next door.
The discount supermarket announced last month that it would be up-scaling into the Hildreds Centre’s largest unit, which had been vacant since the turn of the year.
At the time it was expected to be leaving its current store behind - but at last night’s Skegness and District Chamber of Commerce meeting it was rumoured to be planning on utilising both sites.
“From what I gather the amount of space will put them on a par with Tesco,” said Skegness Carnival Committee chairman Kris Bell.
New River Retail, which owns the Hildreds Centre, previously said the move was expected to have been completed ‘before summer’.
