A discount retailer will bring 55 jobs to Skegness when it opens a larger store in the town this Saturday following a £600,000 investment, it has been announced.
Home Bargains, which has just taken on the former Co-operative Food Store site within the Hildreds Centre, will welcome shoppers at a grand opening day this Saturday, July 20 from 8.30am.
Joe Morris, operations director at Home Bargains, said: “We’re excited to be opening our new Skegness store and look forward to welcoming customers through the doors.”
The 20,000 square foot store, which is triple the size of the current store, next door, will give Skegness shoppers the chance to get their hands on even more bargains, including a great selection of homewares.
Home Bargains also stocks a range of other top brand goods at fantastic value, including health and beauty, household, sweets and snacks, home style and drinks and alcohol.
With over 300 stores across the UK and plans to open another 50 stores in the next 12 months, the discount retailer says it is ‘bucking current trends’ on the high street.
Joe added: “The new location in the Hildreds Centre will provide an improved shopping experience for customers.”
The move will leave Home Bargains’ current unit vacant.
There have been no confirmed announcements about any prospective tenants for the site. However, rumours have been circulating, suggesting that Sports Direct in Lumley Road, could be moving there.
