THE Hildreds Shopping Centre in Skegness is set to throw itself into the Olympic spirit next week when the torch relay passes through the area.

The shopping centre has created a special picture board so that visitors to the centre can take their own photos on Wednesday, June 27 as a keep sake of this once in a lifetime event.

Centre deputy manager Steve Andrews said: “In the future when people ask you where were you when the Olympic torch came to Skegness you can proudly hold your photo high and say, I was there!.

“We will also be holding the “Hildreds Games” outside the front of the centre as I am making a giant 8ft square snakes and ladders game and a giant chequers game that people can have a go at for free.

“The Skegness Lions will be helping out with these so if you can see a bright yellow vest, a game will not be far away,” he added.

For further details about the relay, its route and arrival times, go to our special guide on page 13.
