Four organisations throw hat into ring over vacant Pavilion
FOUR organisations have approached East Lindsey District Council about taking over the empty Pavilion in Tower Gardens, Skegness.
The building has been vacant for five years.
In July, East Lindsey District Council briefed local councillors and the community on a plan that it hoped would bring The Pavilion, back into use for the benefit of the local community through a Community Asset Transfer.
The District Council has already handed Church Farm Museum in Skegness, Horncastle Town Hall and Jubilee Park over to local organisations through a similar process.
And the deadline has now passed for local organisations and community groups to submit an expression of interest to East Lindsey District Council to take over the ownership of The Pavilion.
Four organisations have contacted the Council to express an interest at further discussions.
Portfolio Holder for Property and Finance at the Council, Councillor John Upsall, said: “At this stage we aren’t in a position to name the organisations that have expressed an interest for reasons around confidentiality.
“However, in the coming weeks we’ll be meeting with all four to understand their proposals in more detail,” he added.
