Time is running out for East Lindsey residents to join a money saving scheme for gas and electricity bills.
There’s just one week left to join the Lincolnshire Energy Switch Scheme – which has already saved residents hundreds of pounds on their energy bills.
Those who switched in 2014 saved an average of £214 each, per year, on gas and electricity bills. And, over 85,000 people participated in energy switching nationally last year saving nearly £4million between them.
But, time is ticking and residents only have until Monday, February 2 to register their interest in the scheme by submitting their details at www.e-lindsey.gov.uk/energyswitch
All you need is your annual gas or electricity statement or bills covering the last 12 months. Once you have registered your interest, energy suppliers will then be invited to compete with their best offers at an ‘auction’.
You can even help friends and family sign up too, with five households able to register using the same email account. If you are not able to register online, you can register by calling 0800 048 8439.
The scheme is organised by East Lindsey District Council, Boston Borough Council, City of Lincoln Council, Lincolnshire County Council, South Kesteven District Council, North Kesteven District Council and West Lindsey District Council and administered by the UK’s leading collective switching expert, iChoosr Ltd.
Everyone can register, whether you rent your home or own it, whether you are on dual fuel, electric only, pay monthly or quarterly or have a prepayment meter.
Portfolio Holder for communities, Coun Sandra Harrison, said: “The figures speak for themselves, the Lincolnshire Energy Switch Scheme is saving hundreds of pounds for residents in East Lindsey. With no obligation to accept the offer there is nothing to lose by registering and seeing if the winning supplier beats your current energy prices.
“Take a few seconds to register and you could give you or your family a significant saving, money that could be used for a holiday this year or towards improvements to your home.”
