Businesses urged to bid for £350m funding

Businesses have been encouraged to apply for a share of £350 million in recently released European funding.

Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise is keen to ensure the region receives its fair share of the Regional Growth Fund (RGF), which is aimed at helping manufacturing firms and small firms to expand and create new jobs.

LEP chairman Ursula Lidbetter said: “This fund represents an opportunity for our economy to prosper through new projects, developments and jobs. Increasing business growth in our area demonstrates that Greater Lincolnshire is a place to do business, encouraging inward investment, further increasing our local economy.

“Applying for a share of the RGF can be a daunting process, which is why we want to support businesses through the application process and hopefully secure funding.

The fund, which entered its fourth round of bidding on Thursday has already helped 180 UK projects , including one which helped North Lincolnshire Council create 500 jobs in the area.

The deadline is noon on March 20, with confirmations offered within six months. If you would like help applying contact the LEP on 01522 550540 or email GLLEPsecretariat@lincolnshire.gov.uk.
