The Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service (LCVS) has announced a series of monthly events in Skegness aimed at supporting local groups and volunteers - with similar sessions also earmarked for Alford, Burgh le Marsh and Spilsby.
Held on the third Wednesday of each month, the ‘LCVS Local’ sessions will give people the chance to find out more about getting involved in their community by volunteering with a local group.
The service’s volunteering officers will be on hand to find the best groups for ab individual’s particular skills, and will also offer free advice on a range of elements, including sourcing and securing funding, planning and managing projects and ensuring they are legally set up.
Laura Hickin, of the Tennyson Amateur Players, who the service has supported in the past, said: “The Lincolnshire CVS’s community development officers were helpful and well-informed.
“They provided advice tailor-made for our organisation’s needs.
“It is well worth attending the surgeries as the personal, face-to-face situation gives you a much better insight into the application process than written guidance.”
LCVS Local will take place in the Storehouse on NorthParade, Skegness, on the third Wednesday of the month from January 15 onwards.
