East Midlands Trains have confirmed that rail services between Skegness and Sleaford have returned to a normal timetable following last night’s (Thursday) tidal surge.

All rail services were suspended at around 4.30pm yesterday, and the lines were still out of action this morning while engineers checked to make sure they hadn’t been undermined following the severe floods in the Boston area.

But trains began running again after midday, and a short while ago, a normal timetable had resumed operation.
