Skegness MP Mark Simmonds has welcomed figures showing a boost to house building in the town in the last year.
In the past 12 months 259 new homes have been started in the Skegness area and 41 families have been helped to secure mortgages through the government’s Help to Buy scheme.
Mr Simmonds said: “Labour’s great recession led to a collapse in house building and meant hardworking people in all parts of the country were unable to get on the housing ladder. That’s why the Conservatives, as part of our long-term economic plan, launched Help to Buy and reinvigorated Right to Buy so that more people could get on the housing ladder. With new homes currently under construction in Boston and Skegness even more families will now be able
to achieve their dream of owning their own home and enjoy greater financial security.”
