A moment of quiet reflection inspired a novel about a Second World War bomber crew.
Ghosts in the Sky is the latest novel by Spilsby author Maurice Bird.
It tells the story of the young crew of a Lancaster bomber.
Along the way the group encounter intrigue, drama and danger as they progress from raw recruits to experienced aviators.
The catalyst for the book was a visit to East Kirkby Aviation Heritage Centre.
Maurice said: “I woke up and for all sense and purpose I was in the chapel at the centre and that is how ‘Ghosts in the Sky’ came to fruition.”
