Recruitment fairs will take place in Skegness and Mablethorpe aimed at matching local jobseekers with potential employers.
The recruitment fairs will take place at Mablethorpe Community Hall, on Friday, February 21, between 10.30am and 2.30pm, and the Embassy Centre, Skegness on Wednesday, February 26, between 10.30am and 2.30pm.
The two events will be run by the District Council in conjunction with Job Centre Plus.
Some of the area’s biggest employers will be in attendance making it an attractive proposition for job seekers ahead of the 2014 tourism season.
As well as both full and part time, permanent and temporary job opportunities, there will be recruitment and training advice, as well as information on apprenticeship and volunteering opportunities.
The Council’s Portfolio Holder for Economic Development, Councillor Craig Leyland, said: “These recruitment fairs provide an ideal opportunity for local employers to showcase their job opportunities to local people and for local people to see just what is on offer.
“In a District such as East Lindsey, seasonal employment makes up a large proportion of the work force, so winter months can be particularly difficult for many people. We would therefore urge all jobseekers to attend one of the recruitment fairs to see what is on offer right on their doorstep.
As many local employers gear up for the 2014 season, there will be opportunities to suit everyone from part to full time and both seasonal and permanent vacancies.”
With over 2,000 people claiming Jobseekers’ Allowance in East Lindsey, these events will be invaluable in understanding the jobs market and accessing jobs and training opportunities on offer.
At the Mablethorpe event there will be more than 100 jobs on offer from employers including Haven, Lindum Construction, Park Resorts, East Lindsey District Council and the Dunes Complex.
And, in Skegness more than 150 vacancies will be on offer from employers including Butlins, Richmond Holiday Centre, Coastfields Leisure, McDonalds and Burger King.
June Howard, of Job Centre Plus, added: “These events are an ideal opportunity for employers to advertise vacancies and talk directly to jobseekers about their company and the positions available. n addition, they give jobseekers the opportunity to find out about employment in the area, take along CVs and promote themselves.
“There are also training and volunteering opportunities as well as help and advice on all aspects of job-hunting. Each year there are new organisations attending the events which keeps them fresh and ensures there is something for everyone.”
