An automotive garage worker in Skegness is set to battle it out in the final of a national competition today (Wednesday).
Wayne Bonser of The Bodyshop, Fix Auto Skegness has qualified for the UK final of the 2013 R-M International Best Painter of the Year competition.
The winner will represent the UK at the international final in Paris, which sees the cream of young talent from around the world compete for the Best Painter title.
Wayne qualified after progressing through rigorous national pre-selection tests and will compete at the national final in Enfield.
The Bodyshop Skegness uses R-M paints, a premium automotive refinish paint brand known for its quality, innovation and the eco-efficiency of its waterborne paint systems.
Wayne was apprenticed at Don White’s in Alford and has been at The Bodyshop for the last four years honing his skills and completing NVQ level 3 and achieving Automotive Technician Accreditation. He will compete by demonstrating skills in panel preparation, priming, colour blending and creating a mixing formula for a colour.
