A moving tribute will be paid to those who have fought and died in conflict when the Royal British Legion hosts its Festival of Remembrance in the Embassy Theatre in Skegness this week.
The annual festival concert has become a popular fixture of the area’s Poppy Appeal fundraising.
And it also offers a lasting tribute to those who fell for their country.
A spokesperson for the Embassy Theatre said: “The Remembrance service is held to honour those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in the service of their country.
“The Festival comprises a service of Remembrance and an opportunity to think about the service men and women around the world who are putting their lives at risk protecting our peace and freedom today.
“The events features the Skegness Silver Band.
“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old,
“Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
“At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
“We will remember them.”
The concert will take place on Friday, November 9 at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £7.50 for adults, £6 for over 60s and £4.50 for children. Call 0845 674 0505 for information.
