Wainfleet based Batemans Brewery, has announced a ‘Big Week’ of activities with the aim of raising £20,000 for learning disability charity Linkage Community Trust.
Taking place across its 60 pubs between May 25 and 31, the fundraising initiative was launched at the brewery on Thursday.
Batemans will also be introducing a new beer for the week, Mr George’s Golden Ale, in honour of George Bateman, who formed the long-standing family connection between the brewery and Linkage, and was chairman of the charity for 25 years.
Money from every pint sold will go to the charity, further boosting the amount raised.
Bateman’s managing director Stuart Bateman said:“Linkage is a fantastic charity about which dad was passionate about.
“Every penny donated will make a difference to help integrate people with fairly severe learning dificulties into the community, which is absolutely magnificent.”
The charity’s chief executive Ges Roulstone said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to raise much needed funds and celebrate the association between Bateman’s Brewery and Linkage.”
