A pedestrian has died on the A16 near Spilsby in the early hours of this morning (Saturday) after being hit by a car.
Emergency services were called to the A16 Boston Road near to the junction with the old Boston Road at Spilsby at about 12.35am.
A man in his 50s and believed to be local was pronounced dead at the scene after he had been involved in the collision with a silver Jeep Patriot.
Police are now appealing for witnesses.
A spokesman said: “It is also believed that the man had been walking along the road at the time he was hit by the car. A collision investigation is under way and police would like to hear from anyone who was on the A16 between Spilsby and Partney and saw either the man walking or saw the collision itself to contact them on the non-emergency number 101.”
The A16 was re-opened at 6.50am.
