A Skegness woman today had her head shaved to mark her personal recovery from illness and also raised money for Cancer Research UK.

Mother-of-one Rebecca Clay allowed staff, friends and family to take a snip of her hair for a donation of £1 while she sat within the shop window at Beales department store, Lumley Road, Skegness at 2pm.

Her son Camron was then able to shave the rest of her locks off with a set of clippers lent from Just Cuts, also of Lumley Road.

Thirty-year-old Rebecca fought cervical cancer earlier this year and sadly had to undergo a full hysterectomy.

And just days later, fell ill with septicaemia resulting in further treatment.
