An array of music and dancing kept the large crowd entertained at the first Beacon Primary Academy Bonanza.

The amount of money raised reached over £1300, a huge amount for the Skegness school that currently only has 60 pupils on the roll.

Performers included talented local soloist Gavin Thomas, the Lisa Jay Dance School, the Skegness Academy Choir, the Skegness Academy dance group and Zumba with Luan. The finale to the entertainment was a musical performance from pupils at the Beacon Primary Academy. They performed the work that they have been doing with The Piano Academy in their weekly music sessions.

Principal Corinna Wright said: “The support that we have had from our parents, local businesses and local community, including the local fire crew and police officers, has been incredible. Our PFA and staff team organised the event and have been amazing. The additional support that we had from our ‘friends of the Academy’ was fantastic and they took charge of the numerous stalls and games that were enjoyed by the public.”

She added: “We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the day and supported us in raising such a fantastic amount for the pupils in our Academy. The money will be used to develop our forest area so that it can be used to support our curriculum and the wider development of our children.”
