A caravan cleaner who operates along Skegness coast is warning customers to watch out for someone claiming to be him.
Darren (Daz) Riley says he is getting in touch with police after complaints someone went knocking on doors at the Royal Oak caravan park in Winthorpe last night, claiming to be him or someone working for him.
Customers on social media have already confirmed they have been approached.
Alison Bingham said: “I had a young lad come to mine, sure his name was Daz. He gave me a phone number, he walked straight on locked veranda and even popped his head inside the open door.
“This was about six weeks ago on the Wolds. He didn’t have any equipment with him, said his mate had got the van as was cleaning another van.”
Daz, who has been cleaning caravans in the Skegness, Winthorpe, Chapel St Leonards and Mablethorpe areas for about 20 years, said: “It’s been happening for about a year, when I first went to the police.
“I’ve never been a cold caller like this and it’s upsetting my customers.
“I don’t mind if someone is starting a business - just don’t say you’re me or work for me.”
Daz said: “Please stop our reputation being ruined any further. If he does call around to your caravan, tell the office straight away. I am the only Daz in and around Skegness – please don’t be fooled by the other ‘Daz’.
Anyone who is approached is asked to contact the site office or call the police on 101.
