A ‘Big Lunch’ event to bring communities closer together is being held at the Skegness Embassy Centre swimming pool tomorrow (Sunday), 9am to 4pm.

As part of the National Lottery-funded Big Lunch initiative, partners Halifax is hosting the event in Skegness to give something back to the community.

A spokesman for the company said: “Halifax is encouraging as many people as possible to come together as a community to have fun and get to know each other. This Halifax Big Lunch event will be a great British family day out.”

It will start with a charity swim between 9am and noon and will involve activities for all the family.

Tickets, to get access to the pool, can be purchased for £4 in advance or on the day.

Free packed-lunches will then be provided to all with entry to the pool.

As well as open swimming, people will be able to participate in games, try the tombola and visit various stalls.

The event will raise funds for the Skegness Amateur Swimming Club and Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.
