A Skegness arts project is commemorating the lives and work of animals during the First World War.

The Village, Church Farm is hosting as series of workshops making purple poppies the symbol for animals killed in the conflict.

The poppies will be made into blankets, reins and a halo to decorate a giant model horse and cow at the museum.

Both exhibits will be on display at the Hildreds Centre in Skegness next month.

Artist May Jones is working with skeg.co (Skegness Fringe Festival) on the project, which is supported by Arts Council England.

Volunteers are invited to join the workshops at Church Farm on Wednesday 9, 16 and 23 September from 11am – 4pm.
