THE rightful winners of this year’s Skegness Carnival Parade competition were presented with their trophy and cheque a little later than usual this year.

A prize-giving mix-up on the day meant Skegness charity Alive and Kicking were initially unaware of their victory after another performer mistakenly signed to accept the prize on their behalf.

After the error was noticed, the Skegness Carnival Committee organised a special prize-giving event on Monday evening. The Welcome Inn provided a free buffet, Frank Wood and Sons offered free chocolate medals to the members and DJ Dave Gale provided a free disco.
