AN ANTIPODEAN adventure was enjoyed by students at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School, Alford, recently, when they jetted off to Sydney, Australia, for a ‘once in a lifetime experience’.

A group of eight year 12 students embarked on the epic journey along with fellow pupils at Haven High Technology College, Boston, as part of a nine day leadership pathways programme.

Student Jack Forman said: “Not only was it a once in a lifetime experience but also the chance to enhance your leadership skills on the other side of the world. I will never forget the experience and will carry the skills I gained for the rest of my life.”

The tour included visits to Sydney University, an opportunity to climb Sydney Harbour Bridge and a chance to see The Magic Flute at Sydney Opera House.

The group were also given lessons in surfing to try their hand at the typically Australian marine leisure pursuit.
