Air ambulance called to Skegness beach to assist man rescued from sea

A man has been rescued from the sea at Skegness today (Sunday) after becoming unwell.

An air ambulance flew on the the beach to help treat the man who is reported to have fallen unconscious while swimming.

Road ambulances attended the scene and the RNLI lifeboat was also launched to assist with the rescue.

An area of the beach had to be cleared for the air ambulance to land. The man is believed to have been taken to hospital by road.

The incident took place this afternoon as the town prepared for the annual carnival parade.
