Thursday, 4.49pm - A WELDER from Skegness has set up his own metal work bsuiness thanks to support from the Prince's Trust.
Adam Brittin, 22, was able to realise his dream of having his own welding business, Brittin's Metal Work, after receiving a £1,500 grant and £2,500 loan from the charity.

He said: "A friend told me about the Prince's Trust and I looked them up on the internet. I applied and someone called me back. It's all happened in just eight weeks.

"I would definitely recommend them because they have helped me a hell of a lot."

Mr Brittin is fully qualified after working for a local metal fabrication company. At his previous job he had the responsibility of ensuring jobs were done properly, and now he is dedicated to providing a top quality service of his own.

He can make anything to do with metal, including gates, fences, and balustrades, and he has regular contracts with local caravan sites to build axel stands.

He also hopes to start selling some of his products in nearby garden centres.

Mr Brittin can also refurbish old metal work.

The money from the Prince's Trust, which helps people up to the age of 30 get started in business, helped Mr Brittin buy his equipment, van and materials.

He said: "They stay involved for the first year and I have a mentor who visits me each month to see if I need any help.

"It's great.

"I'd also like to thank my family, friends and girlfriend for their support."
