Saturday, 5pm - GLOBAL issues were considered by pupils at Magdalen Primary School, Wainfleet, as part of the Our World scheme delivered by police.
The project, coordinated by Young Enterprise and funded by the East Midlands Development Agency, was aimed at showing youngsters how they can make a difference to the world.

They discussed issues such as how far food travels, with the English breakfast being deemed the furthest, to things like carbon footprints and trading between countries.

The children, led by PCSO Jayne Richardson, also designed and advertised products of world interest.

PCSO Richardson said: "The youngsters all rose to the challenges set and worked tremendously well. "They have shown great potential in planning techniques, various skills and teamwork and it has been a real pleasure working with them and their class teacher, Mr Smith."

Each of the year six pupils who took part were presented with certificates for their effort.

* Any schools keen to know more about the programme should contact Young Enterprise on 01522 885661 or visit their website on www.young-enterprise.org.uk.
