STAFF and students at St Clement's College, Skegness, are delighted with their first Ofsted report as a fresh start school.
There are celebrations at the school after it received a satisfactory grade overall, with some sections of the inspection being rated as good.
The former Earl of Scarbrough High School re-opened in 2004 after it was closed down by the Government.
Ofsted has visited the school on five occasions to monitor its progress, and in July it was given its first inspection.
Head teacher Vondra Mays said: "It represents the hard work and effort on behalf of the staff, governors, students and parents which has gone into making St Clement's College an exciting place to be.
"We are proud of our achievements to date but we also recognise the need to build on our successes in the future."
Ofsted inspector Cathryn Kirby praised the school on how it had improved the standards of teaching, was providing a more appropriate curriculum and how much the students' work and behaviour had improved.
She said: "The rate of progress has begun to accelerate as a result of better teaching and learning and a more appropriate currciulum.
"A significant improvement in behaviour has resulted in fewer disruptions during lessons, consequently students are able to learn more."
She was particulary impressed by the vocational centre and the strong links the school has with other educational facilities and employers.
She suggested the college needed to improve the attendance of its students which she felt was not satisfactory.
Other areas for improvement included, raising standards in core subjects like English and maths, and increasing the proportion of lessons in which students make good or better progress.
Mrs Mays said: "We still have ideas of how we can take our college forward and we are keen to ensure this happens."
