Silly fun for Children in Need in Skegness

Thursday, 11.50am - SILLY costumes, leg waxing, extreme haircuts and bush tucker trials helped raise millions for Children in Need on Friday.
Pudsey bear was spotted all over town as paid a visit to Skegness Infant School, St Clement's College and the town centre.

Staff at the Westgate Department Store in Lumley Road, Skegness, raised By getting staff to dress up as Bob the Builder and keep an exercise bike pedalling between them for the whole day.

Members of Skegness Youth Club got sticky with a mass sponsored leg wax, while the intrepid members of Alford Youth Club got up close and personal with maggots and worms in their own version of I'm a Celebrity… bush tucker trials.

North Shore Golf Club member Pete Collins said 'goodbye' to his beloved ponytail when Elaine Blair of Urban Reds salon cut it off in return for a few quid.

Children at Spilsby Playgroup baked 450 biscuits and sold them for a whopping £250, while the Little Nippers childminding group of Skegness raised £500 with a sponsored walk around the Tower Gardens.

The Tanglewood Sandpiper care home in Alford raised around £30 for the cause by selling Pudsey shaped biscuits, and selling pre-Christmas bargains.

Overall, this year's Children in Need appeal has raised £20,309,747 to help disadvantaged children.
